Overview
Estrip helps you split shared expenses and track 1-to-1 loans with friends. This policy explains what we collect, why, and who processes it. We collect only what the app needs to work, and we never sell your data.
What we collect
- Account — your email and display name. Passwords are handled by our auth provider and stored only as secure hashes (we never see them). Apple Sign-In returns only your name and a private relay email if you choose it.
- Content you create — groups, expenses, amounts, currencies, descriptions, item names, settlements, loans, comments, and optional group/profile photos.
- Receipts — images you choose to scan or attach.
- Notification token — a device push token, only if you enable notifications.
How we use it
To run the service: store and sync your groups and balances, show who owes whom, send the notifications you opt into, and (when you scan a receipt) read the total and line items.
Receipt scanning
When you scan a receipt, the image is sent to Anthropic (Claude) to extract the total, currency and line items, then returned to the app. Images are processed transiently for that purpose and are not used to train models. If you choose to attach a receipt to an expense, a copy is stored so group members can view it.
Service providers
We use a small set of processors to operate Estrip:
- Supabase — database, authentication and file storage (hosted in the EU, Stockholm).
- Anthropic — receipt text extraction (Claude).
- Expo & Apple Push Notification service — delivering notifications.
- Vercel — hosting the web app.
Who can see your data
People in a group can see that group's expenses, balances, comments and receipts. If you create a public share link for a group, anyone with the link can view it until you turn the link off. 1-to-1 loans are visible only to you and the other person.
Storage & security
Data is stored with Supabase in the EU and protected by row-level security so you can only access groups you belong to. All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
Retention & deletion
Your data is kept while your account is active. You can delete your account from the app; when you do, your profile and the data tied to it are removed. You can also remove individual expenses, receipts and groups at any time.
Children
Estrip is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

You can access, correct or delete your data from within the app. For any request, contact us at the address below.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the date above.
